Genea is one of Australia’s leading providers for infertility, IVF and other assisted conception treatment with more than 31 years of experience in the field.
We have long been a fertility pioneer, with research and technologies developed in-house virtually doubling IVF success rates in the mid-nineties and continuing to improve outcomes today. Our world leading instruments and technologies are sold globally but are exclusive to Genea clinics in Australia. In a recent breakthrough, we announced that a new version of our culture medium Gems, when combined with Genea’s Geri incubator, has seen an increase of 46.7% in the number of high grade embryos per cycle when compared to the traditional incubator and culture medium system*
. The new technologies are leading to - on average - more embryos per IVF attempt.
Genea operates a full service clinic in Heidelberg, Victoria offering patients access to all our leading technology. Our Heidelberg clinic houses our doctor consulting rooms, monitoring centre, laboratory, counselling services, dedicated nursing and administration team, giving you easy access to the resources you need for every step of your fertility treatment.

Getting started at Genea Melbourne
There are a number of checks and procedures Genea is required to ensure patients complete before offering IVF, ICSI, IUI or warming eggs to create embryos. No checks are required for ovulation induction or egg freezing. We recommend patients start coordinating these checks so treatment can commence ASAP.
Genea must apply for the Child Protection Order Check
on a patient’s behalf. You will need to download the form, complete, send it to us and then we will submit it for you. It takes 7-10 days for this check to be processed, it will then be returned directly to Genea.
Patients are also required to apply for a National Police Record Check before commencing treatment. This check takes approximately 4-6 weeks to be processed. To download an application form, go to the Victoria Police website
and follow the below steps:
* Study performed at Genea’s flagship Kent Street, Sydney CBD laboratory. Data presented at Fertility Society of Australia Conference, October 2017. Adelaide.
