Low cost arrival for the Hills

18 AUGUST 2020 SYDNEY: Hills residents struggling to conceive will now have access to Genea’s leading fertility treatment and care at a significantly reduced cost. Genea, who has been helping Hills’ couples create families for more than a decade, has launched Genea Elements IVF, with cycle costs from $3,300 out-of-pocket after rebates.

“Genea has championed equitable access to responsible, world leading fertility care which provides patients with the best possible chance of successfully completing their family in as few cycles as possible,” Kathleen Waite, General Manager of Fertility said.

She adds, “we are excited to launch this new offering to the community, particularly in such a challenging economic environment. Everyone should be able to get the best help if they're experiencing infertility, it’s wonderful that we are increasing access to our technology and care.”

The new clinic offers patients access to Genea's world leading lab technology for which they are most renowned. All embryos will be grown in the Geri incubation system which has seen a 24.3% increase in the number of pregnancies when compared to the traditional incubator and culture medium system*.
Genea Medical Director, Associate Professor Mark Bowman says access to Geri presents an additional financial benefit to patients, “the uninterrupted culture system results in more high-grade embryos per cycle. On average, patients have 26.9% more embryos which can be transferred or frozen for future use**. The more viable embryos a patient has, the more likely they are to create their whole family from a single stimulated egg collection cycle.”
Grow by Genea will also be offered to patients at no additional charge. Grow is a revolutionary app that allows patients to access photos and time lapse videos of the embryos developing in the lab from their mobile devices.
Dr Mark Bowman will play a significant role at Genea Elements but welcomes the team of experienced fertility specialists who will collaboratively treat fertility patients. “Genea Elements doctors have many years of IVF experience in Australia and the UK. The team has worked together at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where, as Head of the subspecialty Infertility/IVF Department I have personally helped shape and oversee our collected approach.”
He adds, “patients can be confident they will receive the highest level of fertility advice and treatment.”
