Many couples, understandably, want to know what they can do to improve their chance of conceiving.
Before jumping into fertility treatment, we encourage couples to consider ovulation tracking as a first step.
It is a simple option that involves the monitoring of hormones through blood tests, so you know when the best time is to have intercourse. Ovulation tracking can also highlight if there are ovulation issues so further investigation or treatment can be prescribed.
Tracking is minimally invasive, with blood tests conducted every few days – all happens at Genea Hollywood Fertility and the service is run by the team. You don’t need to take time off work as early appointments before the day’s commitments are available.
A Simple Four Step Plan
Step 1: Get your referral
To make our service as convenient as possible, you can do this one of two ways:
Step 2: Call a Genea Hollywood Nurse on day 1 of your next period
They will advise you of the best day to visit the Genea Hollywood clinic to have your first blood test.
You will then receive a call to let you know whether you should have another blood test or have unprotected intercourse (it is common to have three initial blood tests to determine ovulation).
Step 3: Seven days after ovulation, you will need one more blood test to check progesterone levels
These usually rise after an egg has been released.
Step 4: It is time for a pregnancy test
If your period does not arrive 16 days from the day of your ovulation we will have you come in for a pregnancy test.
