Experience & Qualifications
South African born, Rhodesian bred, Harvey trained at University of Cape Town in Biochemistry and Medicine before moving to Port Elizabeth for 10 years. In 1995, he moved to specialise at the world renowned Stellenbosch University where he obtained his Specialist and Master degrees.
Harvey practised in Canada for seven years before emigrating to Australia in 2006 to establish a practice of excellence in Coffs Harbour. As well as seeing private patients at Baringa Hospital, Harvey also has a public appointment at Coffs Harbour Health Campus.
He is a Conjoint Associate Professor at UNSW Rural school of Medicine and loves spending time with students, teaching and mentoring them in their career pursuits.
Harvey is a member of the Medical Advisory Committee of Baringa Private Hospital, a Fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and a NSW Board Certified Specialist. He is registered as a RANZCOG examiner and is a RAMUS mentor.
In his spare time, Harvey lectures GPs and the public on relevant obstetrics and gynaecology topics, and writes poetry, plays guitar and sings in the local Church music group. He is married to his best friend Kathy and they have three children.
